About Read in 2 Languages

CALEC is currently developing Read in 2 Languages, an online book platform with books available in multiple languages. We aim to encourage multilingualism by providing access to our books for schools and communities interested in literacy, language, and bilingual education.

One proven way to increase both bilingualism and biliteracy rates across schools and communities is through an increase in access to multilingual books. By making our educational resources available on our digital book platform, CALEC will help provide crucial learning tools for those who are unable to read or interpret the books.

We are committed to providing access for free to underserved schools and communities, with resources focused on language and bilingual education. Other schools can join the platform for a set license fee.

Currently, we are beta-testing our platform with selected schools in the Ivory Coast, Senegal, France, and the United States. With funding permits, our hope is to include more schools from around the world and create a multilingual community of readers.
